ICAI has announced a transformative shift in the administration of Practical Training with the launch of the Digital Practical Training (E-Diary) System. Implemented by the Board of Studies – Operations, the E-Diary functions as a unified digital platform for both Article Assistants and Principals, fully integrated with the Self Service Portal (SSP).

Effective Date: Mandatory for all students commencing practical training on or after 1st January 2026.

  • Structured digital recording of daily work exposure and activities

  • Fortnightly reporting, validation, and monitoring cycle

  • Real-time tracking of attendance, assignments, and stipend compliance

  • Streamlined administration of leave, completion, and other training lifecycle events

  • Deemed approval mechanism to ensure timely governance and accountability

This initiative is designed to simplify administrative processes, reduce compliance burden, and enhance the overall quality and transparency of practical training. By transitioning to a paperless framework, ICAI aims to create a more efficient, technology-driven, and future-ready training environment.
