Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS),
under the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
2. Purpose
BIS is inviting individual
experts for empanelment to assist in safety audits of machinery
and electrical equipment under the Machinery and Electrical Equipment
Safety (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Order, 2024.
This is a rolling advertisement, meaning applications can be submitted
anytime (no last date).
3. Scope of Work
Experts will support BIS by
performing:
- Desk audits of technical files submitted by
manufacturers.
- On-site product compliance audits across India, along with BIS officers
or other experts.
- Submission of detailed audit reports for assigned tasks.
4. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
- Indian citizens, normally ≤60 years old (must be
<70).
- Education: Minimum B.Tech/B.E. in
- Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical /
Automation / Instrumentation.
- Industrial experience:
- At least 5 years (non-IT
industry) in manufacturing, production, design, or maintenance of
machinery.
- Audit experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in
risk assessment as per IS 16189 / ISO 12100.
- Performed at least 5 machine risk
assessments in last 2 years.
- Basic understanding of safety control
systems as per IS 16810 (Part 1) / ISO 13849-1.
- Proficiency with IT tools.
